Hi Eddy D’Amato, how are you?
I’m good thank you to have me.
‘Human Experience’ has such a rich and textured sound. Can you walk us through the creative process behind it?
Sure! Actually, I started this track as a B-side of an EP I was working on. But the more I worked on it, the more I realized its potential. From that moment, I began working on it obsessively, perfecting every single detail, and voilà, Human Experience came to life.
Was there a particular moment or inspiration that sparked the idea for ‘Human Experience’?
It’s a funny story. I was at an amusement park, waiting in line for a space/futuristic-themed roller coaster. The queue passed through several rooms, and in each room, there was this voice coming from the speakers announcing this revolutionary Human Experience in a futuristic style. When I got home, I looked up the full speech and extracted the parts I was interested in to use as the vocal for my track.
The track blends heavy beats and atmospheric elements. How did you find the right balance between these layers?
Simple, by giving each element its rightful place in the mix. In my opinion, if you get the balance of the elements right, you’ve done about 90% of the work in the mix.
What was the most challenging part of creating ‘Human Experience’, and how did you overcome it?
Certainly, creating a melody in the main break that was catchy, fitting well with the vocal, and kept the listener engaged without losing interest. By trying and trying again, I found what I needed.
The arrangement gradually builds with new elements being introduced. How did you approach the structuring and layering of the production to ensure listeners remained engaged?
Every few bars, something changes or a new element is introduced. For the most part, these are subtle changes that may go unnoticed unless you pay close attention, but they’re effective in keeping the listener engaged. My task was to ensure that everything made sense, even when there were many elements and a lot of sounds with layering.
How would you say ‘Human Experience’ reflects your artistic journey since your debut as a Producer and DJ?
Great question. Well, I believe it reflects my growth both as an artist and as a human being, and I think it’s the real proof of the experience I’ve gained over the years, especially on a technical level.
The powerful beat in ‘Human Experience’ provides a strong foundation. What techniques did you use when creating the rhythmic groove of the track?
The secret is in creating a powerful rumble that blends well with the rhythm made up of drums and percussions.
Is there a part of the track you are most proud of?
Actually, no, I’m proud of the track as a whole. Even though the sound design part, to which I dedicate a lot of time and attention, makes me particularly proud of my work.
The layered synth work adds a sense of motion throughout the track. Can you share your process for crafting the melodic details of ‘Human Experience’?
Yes, as I mentioned, there’s a lot of sound design work behind it. I spend a lot of time creating and modulating a synth specifically so that it works well with a particular melody. In this track, I used synths like Serum and Diva to create the perfect layer for the main melody.
Finally, can you share what you have coming up next? Are there any more releases on the horizon?
Yes, I’m working with my team to finalize some important releases, but that’s not all—there’s much more to come, starting with the live shows. Stay tuned so you don’t miss anything!
